The Farmer

About the Farmer

The story behind the name, the farm, and a deep love of flowers.

How did Moonbeam Blooms get her name?

The Moonbeam flower, also known as Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam', is a "nativar" perennial flower that grows in North Carolina. It is perfectly suited for specialty cut flower arrangements with stunning pale lemon-yellow flowers and delicate lacy foliage. I want to help popularize and show off the beauty of native flowers in arrangements and bouquets and floral art.

Moon was also my child's first word. I was with him as he said "moon" as he pointed, watching it rising over our garden and towering oak trees in awe. It was when the farm dream was also in its infancy. I hold this moment as part of the legacy, a blessing and naming, for this flower farm to embody a childlike wonder and delight in the gifts of our natural world.

All the listening and learning about stewarding land led to an incredible gift from Mother Earth. Discovering a deep passion and pure joy for the art of growing flowers and floral design! All the flowers going out into the world to spread joy are little beauties I lovingly helped coax into being. With such a small scale farm I get to touch each part of the process before the blooms make their way to you.

I sowed the seeds of this dream with love and have slowly and intentionally been tending it, and I am excited, humbled, and grateful for this flower farm to blossom into reality! I can't wait to share my contagious love of all these Moonbeam Blooms with you!
